my bonder build
hi again. i posted earlier like week or 2 ago about my healer build. now i have a bonder build i would like critqued. droks tat armor with healer scalp, sup healing rune, major prot rune, minor divine rune, minor smiting, and major vigor. for weapon usually use gardocks staff for this or kepkhets refuge
which puts my stats at
healing 7
smiting 1
protection 14
divine favor 13
my skill list is
1. protective spirit (just put on spellbar still deciding nice against big atks/nukers)
2. healing touch (for nice 121 heal for 5 mana)
3.shielding hands ( i like it alot for soloing reasons but it also helps out when i life bond people)
4. blessed sig
5. life barrier
6. life bond
7. balthazar's spirit
8. rebirth ( still deciding on this one to i had restore life on there for reason if i use rebirth i lose enchantments.. but then i thought if my group wipes enchantments will be lost anyway and rebirth may save the day.)
1 question.. should i be concerned with hex removal duties? or just leave that up to someone else in group. if the answer is yes more then likely i will take out protective spirit.
i know some of u will probably tell me to get a protective scalp too for bigger life barrier and life bond. i know i will be working on that and hopefully have it by the weekend.
any suggestions for my setup is much appreciated.

There are different types of Bonder builds for different types of places, but in most places, your group wants you to hold as many bonds as you can, and for that, you really need Mantra of Inscriptions.
I recommend these attributes:
11 + 3 + 1 Protection Prayers
10 + 3 Divine Favor
10 Inspiration Magic
These skills are a must:
1. Life Barrier [Elite]
2. Life Bond
3. Mantra of Inscriptions
4. Blessed Signet
5. Balthazar's Spirit
Always take Rebirth over Restore Life, especially with high Protection Prayers, since Restore Life forces you to aggro enemies most of the time, unlike Rebirth. I prefer Reversal of Fortune, Protective Spirit and Rebirth as last 3 skills when I'm bonding.
Always take the Superior Runes and Scalp from the attribute that you have highest. And in this case Protection Prayers. This should be quite obvious if you'd ask me.
And in my opinion, Hex Removal shouldn't be your job. If you're the only Monk in the team, and they want you to both heal and bond, it's a different story, since they most likely expect you to control Hex Removal as well. Most of the time there's a second, or even third Monk though, and they can take the Hex Removal task on them.

I'm gonna have to disagree with Maxiemonster here. Rebirth is not a good idea for a bonder. As a bonder, you're most likely to have more than four bonds going. Rebirth gets rid of all your energy. Cast Rebirth and every bond except the first four you casted are removed. Restore Life is nice, but I prefer Resurrect because you can resurrect at a distance. Depending on where you are, you won't always need Mantra of Inscriptions either, it's helpful, but not ALWAYS necessary (not to me anyway, I've bonded many times and have never really needed it).
I'm wary of Shielding Hands just because of it's recharge. Reversal of Fortune is often a good spell. Gaurdian can be argued as worthwhile too.
I think that Hex Removal is not your job...as a bonder at least. If hexes are a problem, there are so many to deal with (because they can come from a lot of places) that the job becomes daunting. If you're worried about it though, I'd say bring a hex removal spell, it's always nice to lose at least one of the hundred hexes a mesmer or necro throw your teams way.
Also, if this is for RA or something like that, the Resurrection Signet is probably preferred too (just in case that was a question).

but note that the hex removal on his skillset nets him good energy. Thats something bonders look forward to when they run into an e-denial mes.

Mantra of Inscriptions is really nice. If you really want a heal, I suggest taking Signet of Devotion, rather than Healing Touch, where you have to spend points in Healing Prayers.

I too prefer to have a 16 in prot, but....
With Life Bond 50% of physical Dmg is redirected to you and that dmg is reduced by 30. While Barrier will stop 52% of incoming dmg. Now I am not sure on the particulars but at 14 isn't it something like 26 and 48%? Not a big dfference if you ask me.
Though I am not sure why Healing Hands is being worked into this build. RoF with Boon would be a far superior choice...Could also drop Prot Spirit and add mend ailment.
